I have owned this product for a while now it has some awesome features. This little Recorder is absolutely amazing for it's size. Takes some practice to appreciate all the features. I recommended this Recorder to a fellow musician friend he bought one also from Amazon he loves it records all his gigs with it now instead of the old huge unit he was using told me it does a much better job than his old unit. He even used his on a tripod to record a gravesite funeral service that his family can keep for memories of a loved one.

Disappointing user interface - Herbert B Diamant -
I am not a serious audiophile, but I wanted recording quality better than the typical voice recorder.br /The Zoom H2 does not disappoint. I really like the 2 channel (stereo) surround (uses all 4 mics - front and back) setting.br /Listening with headphones, you really feel immersed in the live sound space.br /br /However, the user interface is very annoying, partially because it is close, but not quite.br /The good: Recording and sound levels are front and center. Not a lot of menu navigating to get started.br /br /br /The bad:br /There are 3 red LEDs on the front; br / - recording format,br / - powerbr / - not recording(off)/ get levels(blink red)/ recording (solid red) playback(solid green)br /br /These are easy to confuse, and with a quick glance at the unit, especially in the chaos of a live show or a rehearsal, I have mistaken onebr /of these LEDs to mean the Zoom was recording, when it wasn't. I lost several good recordings that way. The LCD screen is too hard to read, as the backlight goes quickly off.br /Regardless, a dramatic change in LCD display while recording (invert?) or a different colored LED for record vs other indicators, or just better LED placement is all this UI would need to make it much better.br /Also, when I am recording outdoors, I'd like to just reach into my bag and start recording. A record button that could work by touch only would be a great addition - I.E. You could know the H2 was recording without looking at it.br /br /The file system is a little clunky, transfer time to the PC is long (probably true for most recorders), and deleting files frombr /the computer doesn't free the space on the Zoom (documented in the user manual, but still not a good thing).br /I missed my 30 day return period, or I'd be shopping for another recorder that records as well, but has a better UI. Does anyone know what model I am looking for? I haven't found it yet.br /br /Herb
